The curative power of quieter cities

Unlike other environmental stressors, noise pollution has not typically been a major factor in community planning. Awareness is growing, however, says U-M environmental sciences professor Rick Neitzel.

“I think people are starting to wake up and realize this isn’t just a nuisance,” says Neitzel. “It’s not just a necessary byproduct of modern life. It’s actually bad for us.”
