Findings on SARS-CoV2 sampling to inform safe back-to-campus policies

Xin Zhang presents research findings at AIHA.

In 2020, PhD student Xin Zhang began her research assistant position in Dr. Neitzel’s lab and joined the mission for community environmental monitoring for the SARS-CoV-2 virus to provide additional evidence on potential transmission risks through air, surface contact, and wastewater.

Using the field data, Xin estimated the risk of infection using a quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) model. Read more about the study. She presented her findings at the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) annual conference. See the AIHA program.
