Exposure Sensing Technologies

There is an ever-widening array of sensors designed to measure exposures and health outcomes that are available to researchers via smartphones and other portable electronic devices. However, to date few of these sensors have been employed in research related to occupational health and risk science. Our lab seeks to identify and employ new sensing technologies in research wherever possible, with the goal of identifying potential roles for sensors in future health monitoring programs and developing an understanding of typical exposures to a broad range of environmental and occupational hazards.
